LEGAL UPDATES

PA LANDLORD AND TENANT LAW

As of September 5, 2012, changes to the Pennsylvania Landlord and Tenant Act of 1951 mandate certain new notice requirements that landlords must follow before they can dispose of personal property left behind by a tenant who has vacated or been evicted from the rented real estate.  It is suggested that such notice requirements may also be applied by courts in the case of property owners or occupants who leave behind personal property after sheriff's sale of the real estate or post-sheriff's-sale eviction from such real estate.

For more information regarding compliance with these requirements, as well as assistance with any ejectment/eviction matters, please contact Lyndsay E. Rowland at (215) 244-2469.
